About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage assigned Public Water System (PWS) permits and regulatory requirements under the Safe Drinking Water Act
  • Assist with preparation and submission of permit applications, including construction and operating permits
  • Support compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and submissions to federal and state agencies
  • Track and maintain compliance records for timely reporting and permit obligations
  • Liaise with federal and state regulatory agencies regarding inspections, sanitary surveys, audits, compliance reviews, enforcement actions, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate laboratory services and sampling logistics
  • Review water quality data and compliance documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide drinking water compliance guidance and training to sales and field teams
  • Support Nalco Water participation in regulatory reviews and agency interactions
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist with implementing required changes
  • Travel up to 30% as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record, where required
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline; or Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sciences
  • Preferred: Drinking Water Operator License
  • Preferred: Professional experience supporting municipal drinking water systems
  • Knowledge of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA)
  • Experience with waterborne pathogens, including Legionella bacteria
  • Experience applying drinking water regulations, including TCR, LCR, DBPR, PFAS drinking water requirements, and CCR requirements
  • Experience coordinating sampling programs, laboratory testing, and compliance reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • May need to undergo additional background screens and/or drug/alcohol testing for customer credentialing
