About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers in Canada and the US
  • Act as a first point of contact for local people-related queries
  • Support onboarding, employee changes, absence management, leavers, documentation, and HR systems and records
  • Help align HR practices and documentation with Canadian and US employment requirements and internal policies
  • Coordinate with payroll, benefits, finance, IT, and other internal teams on employee lifecycle processes
  • Improve local HR processes, employee experience, and ways of working
  • Provide HR business partnering support to two senior executives
  • Support organisational changes, workforce planning, employee relations, engagement, performance, talent, and team effectiveness
  • Use people data, feedback, and local insight to identify risks, opportunities, and practical solutions
  • Contribute to global People Team initiatives and translate global frameworks into locally relevant actions for Canada
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the local office environment
  • Coordinate office supplies, vendors, facilities requests, local events, and workplace requirements
  • Support local health, safety, and workplace procedures
  • Act as a local culture and engagement champion connecting the Canadian office with global activities and communications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 2–4 years as an existing HR Business Partner
  • Experience supporting employees and managers in Canada is preferred
  • Exposure to supporting US colleagues would be an advantage
  • Exposure to employee relations, onboarding, performance processes, HR systems, benefits, or payroll coordination would be beneficial
  • Experience in an international, scaling, SaaS, technology, or multi-site business would be an advantage
  • Relevant HR qualification, degree, or equivalent practical experience is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Canadian and US HR practices
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and handling sensitive topics appropriately
  • Ability to switch between strategic support and operational delivery
  • Comfortable working independently in Canada while supporting colleagues across Canada and the US
  • Ability to stay connected to a London-based CHRO and global team
  • Relationship-led, credible, and able to build trust with employees, managers, senior leaders, and global HR colleagues
  • Solutions-focused, with confidence to make recommendations and ask for support when needed
