About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive vendor management program
  • Facilitate business continuity planning for disaster recovery, crisis management, and operational resilience
  • Facilitate reviews, testing, and updates to business continuity plans
  • Manage the credit union’s insurance portfolio, including property, liability, and specialty coverages
  • Collaborate with brokers and carriers to assess risks, secure coverage, and oversee claims processes
  • Ensure compliance with NCUA and IDFI regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to integrate vendor, continuity, and insurance objectives
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on program effectiveness, risk exposures, and improvement opportunities
  • Advance process improvements and automation using technology, reporting, and employee self-service tools
  • Administer and manage the GRC system, primarily vendor and business continuity modules
  • Provide assistance to the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource on regulatory and compliance initiatives
  • Assist in identifying relevant regulatory compliance training
  • Maintain and enhance regulatory compliance knowledge through professional development
  • Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the credit union

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience in vendor management, business continuity, and/or insurance within the financial services sector
  • 2+ years management or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, risk management frameworks, and industry standards
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and build collaborative relationships across departments
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations around vendor relationships, third- and fourth-party risk management, business continuity planning, and insurance program management
  • Savvy management of the organization’s GRC system
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Effective leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and developing a team
