About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support development, execution, and optimization of EEI’s digital content strategy
  • Advance EEI’s public policy, member engagement, thought leadership, and reputation-building goals
  • Create and curate digital content for EEI’s website, social media channels, email campaigns, and multimedia products
  • Report to the Managing Director, External Communications
  • Work with the Senior Director of Digital Content on cross-functional planning
  • Lead creation and implementation of digital content plans
  • Align digital content with communications campaigns, editorial calendars, and organizational goals
  • Repurpose content from publications, speeches, events, news articles, and external engagements for digital audiences
  • Collaborate with writers, designers, and subject matter experts
  • Oversee day-to-day social media operations and content calendar
  • Develop and schedule posts, track EEI mentions, and monitor trends
  • Develop graphics and multimedia content
  • Monitor digital content performance and report on engagement metrics, web traffic, and social media impact
  • Use analytics to improve strategy and expand audience reach
  • Identify and implement new use cases for AI tools across the Communications team
  • Assist with videos, podcasts, infographics, and digital storytelling assets
  • Coordinate with web and IT teams on digital platform enhancements and user experience
  • Collaborate with government relations, policy, international, and storm response teams
  • Share content and messaging toolkits with member company communicators
  • Support digital communications during extreme weather and other urgent situations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field required
  • 6-8 years of experience managing content across websites, social media, and email marketing tools
  • Experience using audience and performance insights to inform creative and content development across organic and paid digital channels
  • Excellent writing, editing, and digital content development skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools such as Sprout Social and Hootsuite
  • Strong grasp of SEO, web analytics such as Google Analytics, and performance metrics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Creative, collaborative, and proactive problem-solver with an eye for storytelling and audience engagement
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally, including interviewing executives and industry leaders on camera
  • Occasional travel required, approximately 8%
  • Relevant experience in policy communications and energy issues preferred
  • Certification in digital marketing, content strategy, or analytics is a plus
  • Must complete background and reference checks as a final applicant
