About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform helpdesk support for EGT staff and contracted MSP clients
Handle hardware acquisition, provisioning, deprovisioning, and disposal
Perform account setup and access provisioning/deprovisioning
Conduct employee IT orientations for new hires
Handle file server backup and restore requests, including single-file restores and directory object lookups
Set up new PCs, including configuration of software and drivers
Monitor critical systems such as VM hosts, Datto, AWS, and N-Able
Maintain and monitor devices for EGT and MSP clients
Conduct on-site support for MSP clients for network and computer issues as needed
Assist with network configuration and setup for contracted clients
Maintain and repair network equipment and peripheral devices
Perform regular upgrades to keep systems current and patched
Coordinate secure equipment disposal and maintain associated records
Support collaboration and productivity platforms under the direction of the Systems Administrator
Troubleshoot system failures and provide solutions to restore functionality
Report to the Director of IT and receive day-to-day technical direction from the IT Engineering Team Lead

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (or relevant experience)
Ability to think logically with strong problem-solving skills
Strong customer service focus & superior phone etiquette
Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to customers
Ability to manage several competing priorities
Quality focused
Database experience (mySql, MS SQL Server) a plus
CompTIA A+ or comparable certification preferred
Experience supporting PCs, Macs, monitors, docks, peripherals, desk phones, and mobile devices
Experience with account setup and access provisioning/deprovisioning
Experience with file server backup and restore requests
Experience configuring software, drivers, networks, and IT systems
Experience monitoring VM hosts, Datto, AWS, and N-Able systems
Ability to conduct on-site support for MSP clients
Ability to maintain and repair network-related equipment and peripheral devices
Ability to perform system upgrades and patching
