About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Help make each site independent in procedures, product preparation and support
  • Provide guidance on device use and train clinicians and staff on THV technology
  • Travel frequently within the assigned territory after extensive training
  • Work independently in valve crimping, case management, pre-case planning, post-case management, 3 Mensio management, Therapy Awareness program management and clinical education programs
  • Implement sales and educational materials for clinicians
  • Validate software and hardware updates in the field
  • Plan and implement growth strategies within focused accounts with Sales Management
  • Develop clinical champions among current and potential customers for THV products
  • Deliver training and educational materials to clinicians to drive utilization of the Edwards THV product portfolio
  • Educate physicians and staff to achieve expert proficiency in THV procedures and positive patient outcomes
  • Attend implants; prepare and crimp Sapien valves for assigned cases; support physicians during THV procedures; manage complaint handling as needed
  • Support cases outside the assigned region as needed
  • Partner with Territory Managers on site selection criteria, therapy awareness programs and THV growth
  • Partner with proctors and sales organization to plan and implement physician and support staff training
  • Assist in developing the THV procedure in Cardiology and Surgery
  • Collaborate with Sales, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and Education departments
  • Report to an assigned Regional Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An associate’s or equivalent in nursing or related field, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
  • A minimum of five (5) years of previous related medical device, THV/TAVR, Cath Lab or clinical experience in an acute care environment, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Previous experience with education and training in a clinical setting
  • Clinical skills specifically in cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology strongly preferred; relevant medical device clinical sales support experience considered
  • Sales skill-set including drive and self-motivation, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to plan, organize, close and deliver, and capacity to work autonomously
  • Ability to travel extensively (approximately 60–70%) and flexibility to change between technical and sales requirements
  • Candidates medically trained to the technician or nurse level highly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing with cardiologists, support staff, sales, external customers and internal team members
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, competitive drive, and work ethic conducive to success
  • Initiative and follow-through on tasks; collaborative across functions and able to extend the role beyond expressed Clinical Specialist requirements
