About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead planning and execution of changes impacting Edwards' commercialized THV and/or TMTT product portfolios
- Manage large-scale to enterprise-wide programs and initiatives for global continuity of quality supply
- Ensure Global Supply Chain integration into product lifecycle management through collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and other critical supply chain functions
- Provide engineering expertise using business excellence methods such as Six Sigma and LEAN
- Resolve manufacturing issues to ensure business continuity, product quality, and customer service
- Safeguard medical product design and manufacturing intent from suppliers through distribution
- Direct and guide project teams executing tactical Supply Chain projects and initiatives
- Ensure Manufacturing Readiness Reviews occur before major builds following operations changes
- Analyze and track progress against key business and operating metrics
- Provide input on executive summaries and recommendations for new projects, initiatives, and programs
- Escalate program risks to management when projects are not successfully executed or do not achieve anticipated outcomes
- Integrate process technologies and transfer stabilized products into and between Edwards Commercial Manufacturing facilities and External Manufacturers
- Drive product launches into additional markets
- Communicate risks and mitigations to stakeholders and Senior Leadership
- Partner with Finance to quantify budget needs, project resources, expenses, and capital expenditures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- 10 years of related experience providing technical engineering support in medical device manufacturing
- Demonstrated track record of successfully commercializing and sustaining medical devices
- Experience in Supply Chain such as Suppliers, Manufacturing, and/or Distribution
- Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct line reporting authority
- Lean Six Sigma Belt certification (preferred)
- Technical knowledge and leadership in manufacturing engineering of medical devices
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, cGMP, DFM, LEAN, EH&S guidelines, FDA guidelines, ISO standards, ergonomics, GD&T, automation and equipment design and implementation, supplier development, and process validation
- Understanding of Design Control for Class II & III medical devices
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing systems such as PLM and Ignite
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to translate highly complex technical information to all organizational levels, including executive leaders
- Extensive understanding of advanced processes and equipment used to manufacture medical devices
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Adherence to company rules, pandemic protocols, and Environmental Health & Safety rules
