About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer Google Workspace, device management, and the SaaS access lifecycle
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and audit-ready access reviews
- Run access-review and device-compliance checks
- Automate repetitive security and IT processes
- Remediate failing Vanta tests and automate evidence collection
- Triage employee security and IT requests for one shift per week with mentor review
- Write runbooks and triage notes for engineers and AI agents
- Use Claude Code and similar AI tools to scale work and develop automated production jobs
- Own bounded projects end to end, ship them, and demo them to the engineering organization
- Work directly with the Head of Security and Security Engineer
Requirements
What you’ll need- Junior or Senior at a US college or university, in computer science or a related program
- Scripting ability in Python or similar; experience writing something that calls an API and performs a task
- Working knowledge of SSO, MFA, directory groups, and least privilege
- Experience administering or securing one concrete environment, such as Google Workspace, a home lab, campus help desk, CTF infrastructure, or part-time IT environment
- Clear security writing; submit a lab writeup, README, blog post, or how-to
- Available 20 hours per week during the school year
- At least 4 hours of overlap with US business hours on 3 or more days
- Authorized to work in the US; role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- AI-first mindset
- Bonus: CTF participation, bug bounty writeups, GitHub projects, help desk/campus IT/MSP experience, or exposure to SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001
