About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and strengthen the Collections team.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable portfolio and reduce past-due balances.
- Achieve collection KPIs, including DSO, aging, past-due balance, and cash collection targets.
- Oversee complex B2B customer accounts.
- Identify collection risks and root causes and drive action plans.
- Coordinate with Billing, Cash Application, Customer Care, Commercial, Finance, and other stakeholders to accelerate issue resolution and payment.
- Coach collectors and monitor team performance.
- Escalate high-risk accounts.
- Support process improvements.
- Ensure execution of customer-specific billing and collection requirements.
- Control and oversee the SOFOM loan portfolio.
- Lead portfolio management, collections, risk analysis, dispute resolution, cross-functional coordination, customer meetings, escalations, projects, and compliance resolutions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, or related financial functions.
- Previous experience managing complex B2B customer portfolios.
- Demonstrated experience in collection negotiations, account reconciliation, dispute resolution, and aging analysis.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or coaching teams.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and Order-to-Cash processes.
- Knowledge of Mexican invoicing requirements and SAT/CFDI regulations.
- Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to participate in business meetings and communicate with regional or global stakeholders.
- Candidates must be willing to comply with a pre-employment background check.
- Ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold team members accountable for results.
- Strong ability to analyze aging, customer balances, payment behavior, disputes, and portfolio trends.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, particularly with complex or high-value B2B customers.
- Ability to identify financial risks and focus resources on accounts and actions with the highest business impact.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with customers and senior internal stakeholders.
- Ability to identify root causes and coordinate solutions across multiple functions.
- Strong discipline in tracking commitments, actions, deadlines, and customer follow-up.
- Ability to balance customer relationships with financial objectives and collection requirements.
- Strong ownership of DSO, past-due reduction, cash collection, and portfolio quality.
- Ability to work effectively across Finance, Commercial, Operations, Billing, and Customer Service teams.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, changing, and deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of the operational and regulatory processes of regulated financial entities such as a SOFOM or banking institution, including loan lifecycle management, portfolio control, and compliance with applicable financial regulations.
