About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the engagement strategy and enablement capability for Lilly's CMH digital influencer stakeholder ecosystem
- Turn external signals into clear recommendations, practical frameworks, and cross-functional action
- Understand partnerships and touchpoints with Digital Opinion Leaders and map best practices and appropriate use
- Ensure engagement with Digital Opinion Leaders respects their independence and educational mission
- Identify ascending digital voices and define effective engagement approaches
- Oversee stakeholder engagement utilization strategy across all verticals
- Understand and triangulate stakeholder preferences, business strategies, and compliance requirements
- Define identification and prioritization criteria with Ecosystem Intelligence and AI & Technology leads
- Translate DOL stakeholder insights into recommendations on engagement priorities
- Build connectivity to top global stakeholders and maintain strategic relationship oversight
- Serve as internal expert on effective engagement with stakeholder types
- Design, pilot, and evaluate new engagement approaches
- Codify successful pilots into scalable frameworks, playbooks, and operating guidance
- Scan the external environment for innovative engagement models and emerging best practices
- Develop and maintain engagement frameworks, toolkits, and playbooks
- Embed compliance guardrails and accountability standards into frameworks
- Design and deliver stakeholder-category training
- Provide coaching, guidance, and hands-on support for teams applying frameworks
- Draft key stakeholder communications
- Support executive engagement preparation by identifying new stakeholders and opportunities
- Track engagement outcomes against metrics including relationship depth, insight quality, co-creation output, and practice impact
- Report results and improvement recommendations to the Engagement Strategy lead and cross-functional partners
- Build and implement cross-functional stakeholder utilization strategy
- Partner with U.S. and IBU affiliates to align stakeholder needs and best use
- Manage lists of highly utilized stakeholders and ensure teams understand use cases
- Collaborate with a project manager to track activities against strategy and utilization requirements/cap
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical or healthcare external engagement, medical affairs, marketing, digital strategy, digital marketing, medical communications or communications roles
- Demonstrated ability to move from analysis to a clear recommendation in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
- Demonstrated strategic judgment in defining new approaches where there is limited precedent
- Ability to synthesize complex inputs into a clear point of view for senior and cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience driving alignment across multiple functions with different priorities and levels of familiarity
- Strong communication and ability to engage credibly with digitally sophisticated external stakeholders and medical affairs and compliance teams
- Ability to define what good looks like in emerging spaces and translate it into practical frameworks, expectations, and actions
- Hands-on experience building DOL or digital influencer engagement programs
- Understanding of the digital medical education ecosystem
- Deep familiarity with social media and digital health content creation
- Familiarity with social media analytics, social listening tools, and digital engagement metrics
- Comfort leading in ambiguity and rapid change
- Background in medical communications, medical education, or health content strategy
- Experience with social listening and NLP-based content analysis tools, such as Brandwatch, Meltwater, Sprinklr, or equivalent
- Familiarity with digital engagement platforms, including virtual advisory tools, expert network platforms, community platforms, or content collaboration tools
- Understanding of compliance frameworks governing pharmaceutical company interaction with HCPs on social media and digital platforms
- Background in cardiometabolic, obesity, or diabetes therapeutic areas
- Familiarity with non-US digital ecosystems, particularly WeChat/DXY in China, LINE in Japan, and Coliquio/regional platforms in EU
