About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify strategic partnerships supporting US policy campaigns
  • Harness stakeholder engagement to create momentum for policymaker action on priority areas such as price control mitigation, PBM reform, and prevention policy
  • Execute plans to amplify policy arguments and resources with external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with business unit, Government Affairs, and Lilly USA teams to advance US policy outcomes
  • Develop coordinated policy-shaping plans across enterprise-wide policy goals
  • Develop and deploy tools, resources, analytics, and strategic partnerships
  • Influence and oversee comprehensive policy campaigns
  • Develop policy narratives addressing emerging policy threats
  • Develop tactics to create public support for policy change
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to build consensus and advocacy momentum
  • Lead and direct external consultants
  • Build support for prescription drug value and public trust in science
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into strategic plans
  • Coordinate short-term and long-term policy objectives with therapeutic area corporate affairs teams
  • Develop and direct multi-stakeholder coalitions
  • Monitor emerging issues, regulatory and legislative trends, and political risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience with a Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience, in the biopharmaceutical industry, trade association, government, stakeholder organization, academic think-tank, or payer organization
  • Demonstrated ability to create action through relationship-building and collaborative cross-functional work
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Excellent oral presentation skills and ability to present complex information accurately and concisely
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of political and regulatory environments
  • Proven relationship-building experience with industry associations and other stakeholders
  • Experience designing and delivering integrated public affairs strategies
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to anticipate and respond to emerging challenges and opportunities
  • Ability to travel 15%-30%
