About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the medical and HEOR interface between Lilly and population-based decision makers, including payers, health systems, research institutions, and policymakers in the United States
  • Independently cultivate and manage relationships with population-based decision makers as the primary point of contact
  • Deliver and leverage clinical evidence, HEOR, RWE, and value education to support formulary access and pathways/guideline decisions
  • Synthesize, communicate, and translate complex data into transparent, relevant, objective, and actionable insights
  • Develop and execute medical/scientific and value strategies with internal and field-based medical and commercial partners
  • Provide medical and value expertise tailored to health system stakeholders
  • Utilize and tailor relevant content to anticipate stakeholder medical and value needs
  • Develop and maintain knowledge to facilitate research collaborations, value-based arrangements, and enterprise-level partnerships
  • Build partnerships to co-create evidence and improve patient outcomes across healthcare systems and payer/PBM networks
  • Share customer insights, evidence gaps, environmental trends, and stakeholder evidence needs internally
  • Support account engagement plans and provide input on scientific and value topics
  • Maintain expertise in therapeutic drug classes, clinical and disease-state information, pharmacoeconomics, health outcomes, formulary management, technology assessment, quality measures, health policy, and value frameworks
  • Serve as an expert resource on disease states, therapeutic landscapes, HEOR, RWE, value-based care, payer perspectives, and value assessment in the US
  • Monitor emerging science, environmental trends, healthcare policy, and regulatory actions
  • Lead across the HOL team and broader business to elevate performance and drive innovation
  • Coach and mentor teammates and colleagues
  • Champion the customer and HOL team through cross-functional engagement and influence
  • Shape VEO and broader medical strategies using customer, portfolio, and healthcare landscape expertise
  • Conduct activities in compliance with relevant procedures and independently of commercial influence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or health field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health science or health outcomes related roles
  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, MS, MSN, MPH) in a scientific or health related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in health science or health outcomes
  • Relevant experience in data analytics and/or HEOR research/application
  • Experience and expertise in treatment or management of relevant therapeutic areas
  • Deep understanding of the US healthcare system, US population-based decision makers, including national payers, and their evidence needs
  • Ability to analyze and effectively communicate study findings, including real-world data analysis and interpretation
  • Strong written and verbal comprehension and communication skills
  • Experience working with or supporting PBDMs
  • Track record of coaching, influencing, and driving strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in HEOR, including observational and pharmacoeconomic research, and value assessment
  • Experience using real-world data, AMCP Dossiers, FDAMA 114, and pharmacoeconomic models
  • Extensive experience and success in self-managing priorities and multitasking projects
  • 5+ years of experience in field-based customer-facing industry roles, such as medical, clinical development, government affairs, HEOR, managed care, or sales
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Proven ability to obtain results and drive impact across multiple stakeholders/functions
  • Ability to travel 50%+ during periods of high travel
  • Ability to use field-based electronic or other communication tools for all aspects of the job
