About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for research operations aligned with company goals and objectives
  • Oversee planning, execution, and monitoring of capital projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with capital plans and facilities management
  • Implement best practices and process improvements with scientists, project managers, and external partners
  • Engage in acquisition activities and drive efficient integration
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements and integrate relevant innovations into research operations strategy
  • Work closely with research operations leaders
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership on research operations matters
  • Maintain compliance, including for direct reports, with corporate and regulated policies, SOPs, and Red Book
  • Manage annual capital business plans and engage in long-range capital planning
  • Manage a centralized LRL capital budget by developing cost-effective capital plans, monitoring and controlling costs, and leveraging change management when necessary
  • Ensure capital investment strategy aligns with LRL financial and portfolio-based goals and productivity and cost savings initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced degree (M.S., MBA or equivalent) in science with relevant business or scientific discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in (capital) project management, research operations, leadership and strategic planning
  • Project management experience, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong ability to work in matrix organization and drive for results
  • Ability to influence and inspire across functional areas without reporting line authority
  • Ability to maintain compliance with corporate and regulated policies, SOPs, Red Book, etc.
