About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape solutions for an integrated English Language Development platform
- Define how information flows across compliance, instruction, and assessment workflows
- Understand user problems, define experiences, and ship valuable solutions
- Use sketching, wireframing, and code prototyping with LLMs to explore and stress-test concepts
- Leverage Backpack, the company design system, to create consistent integrated product experiences
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering in cross-functional product teams
- Conduct user research, discovery, usability testing, and prototyping
- Own the design of a product area and establish effective feedback loops
- Promote design thinking and best practices within the team
- Contribute improvements to Backpack and participate in decisions shaping the product area
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of demonstrated success as a cross-functional designer in a B2B SaaS or adjacent environment
- AI-fluent, using LLM-assisted prototyping to accelerate ideation and validation
- Design with accessibility as a first-class constraint
- Accountable to outcomes; run experiments, learn from shipped work, and measure behavioral impact
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing in the field
- Ability to synthesize research insights for cross-functional teams
- Ability to iterate with users, engineers, and data
- Ability to bring diverse perspectives and design empathetically
- Systems-thinking approach to creating coherent experiences across workflows
- Ability to articulate tradeoffs, engage in critique, and contribute to design excellence
