About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the full lifecycle of development
- Coordinate consultant teams through entitlements processes, including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Approval, Committee of Adjustment, and Building Permit
- Work with architects and consultants to develop project designs from schematic to working drawings
- Provide accurate data to establish project budgets and schedules
- Track project costs to ensure completion within budget
- Work with the finance team to develop and maintain proformas
- Assist with monthly project updates for investors
- Provide input for investment committee presentations
- Conduct project reviews and debriefs and recommend improvements
- Research municipal and provincial policy changes, provincial Bills, Official Plan Amendments, and housing initiatives
- Support the acquisitions team through underwriting by providing planning research and high-level schematic statistics
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, based out of Downtown Toronto and Mississauga offices
- A degree or diploma in architecture, planning, real-estate development, engineering or equivalent is required
- Experience in a similar role in the real-estate industry
- Experience in the residential sector is a strong asset
- Thorough knowledge of local approval processes and policies, planning and urban design
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks and projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation
- Flexibility and resilience in dealing with a variety of different personalities
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
- Goal-oriented and driven by integrity
- Experience managing highly complex rezoning and site plan approval submissions
- Participation in relevant past projects
