About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Area Accountant or Finance Manager with month-end close activities for Canadian and Ireland operations
- Generate reports from the financial/accounting system and disseminate information within EllisDon Facilities Services
- Analyze periodic financial data to support financial due diligence on financial statements
- Assist in preparing quarterly and yearly financial statements for sites
- Perform monthly variance analysis for site profit and loss statements
- Maintain management reports for projects and overhead against budget and projections
- Monitor aged receivables to ensure funds are collected
- Participate in model audits used for bidding on new projects
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements
- Support audit-related requests for financial statements and tax-related audits
- Ensure Monthly Service Payment billings comply with service agreements for each site
- Ensure additional billings agree with the financial close and service agreements
- Assist with financial system transitions, including control testing and setting up new processes
- Review monthly Performance Monitoring Reports for each site and prepare sections of the monthly operational report for management
- Complete ad-hoc projects for the Area Accountant
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of financial analysis or relevant experience
- Strong financial accounting analysis experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in forecasting and financial modelling using Excel
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience building integrated financial models from scratch in Excel or other planning tools
- Ability to collaborate across a geographically dispersed finance team
- Ability to mentor junior colleagues and champion continuous improvement in processes and controls
- Proficient in generic office software, including advanced Word skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence engaging stakeholders across multiple locations/regions, including Canada and Ireland
- Ideally, experience with Facilities Management
- Must be able to work in office in Cork, Ireland, Edmonton, Alberta, or Mississauga, Ontario
