About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan the mechanical and electrical components of construction projects and ensure activities fit within the overall project framework
- Chair project M&E meetings and determine job status regarding scheduling and costing
- Solve complex technical issues
- Monitor material and labour costs for mechanical and electrical components
- Ensure accurate quality reporting
- Lead and manage commissioning and controls activities, including system integration, functional performance testing, deficiency resolution, and system-performance documentation
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and operations teams
- Ensure building automation systems (BAS), controls sequences, and M&E systems operate as designed and meet project requirements
- Prepare and implement training programs for transition from the construction team to facility management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering/Mechanical degree or equivalent combination of technical training
- 5–7 years of experience in Mechanical and Electrical functions
- Experience managing projects end to end, including scope development, specification development, tendering review and evaluation, contractor installation management, quality review, commissioning, and project closeout
- Mechanical or Electrical Design experience considered an asset
- Experience with commissioning, controls, building automation systems (BAS), system integration, or facility operations considered a strong asset
- Experience leading commissioning activities and validating the performance of mechanical and electrical systems preferred
