About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, write, edit, and maintain technical manuals, reports, procedures, guides, proposals, and instructional materials
- Collaborate with engineers, technical professionals, and operational teams to gather and verify information
- Research technical specifications, drawings, diagrams, schematics, and related documentation to ensure accuracy
- Observe operational and production activities to document procedures, workflows, and best practices
- Review and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability
- Organize content according to established standards for format, style, terminology, and quality
- Create or coordinate visual content such as charts, diagrams, illustrations, and screenshots
- Maintain document revisions, version control, and publication records
- Edit and standardize materials prepared by other contributors
- Support development of internal communications, training materials, and process documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years technical writing experience
- Active Security Clearance required
- Experience developing technical, operational, or procedural documentation
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences
- Experience working with technical drawings, specifications, schematics, or engineering documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, government, or technical operations environments
- Familiarity with equipment operation, maintenance, or technical procedures
- Experience developing training materials, user guides, or standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Position contingent upon contract award, Government acceptance of the proposed candidate, completion of required onboarding, and continued contract funding
