About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide administrative support to the Claims Coverage Counsel team
  • Review coverage opinion and position letter requests
  • Prepare initial documents for assigned attorneys using claim files, policies, templates, and other resources
  • Confirm policy information is complete and accurate and request additional information as needed
  • Summarize pleadings and other information as directed
  • Assist with preparation of coverage position letters
  • Proofread, edit, and format coverage opinions and coverage position letters
  • Organize and monitor the internal team review process to ensure timely, accurate work product
  • Communicate with claims professionals regarding coverage referrals
  • File completed opinions and letters, close assignments, and maintain archives
  • Create and update spreadsheets and work product trackers
  • Diary and monitor deadlines; analyze spreadsheet data and calculate statistics
  • Assist with coverage training templates and presentation materials
  • Organize research archives and coverage resources
  • Prepare content for and update the team intranet site
  • Assist with additional projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Five years of legal administrative experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and formatting legal documents
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
