About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create control algorithms
Download source code to controllers
Manage system databases
Implement animated front-end graphical user interfaces
Integrate multiple systems and protocols so they communicate and share information through one front end
Execute project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems
Coordinate network drops, IP addresses, and monitoring tools with customer IT personnel
Coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements with equipment vendors
Run semi-complex reports to analyze system operation
Demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with contracted scope of work
Participate in final inspection and testing
Assure customer acceptance
Conduct end-user training on system operations
Provide plans and control system documents to application engineering for as-built drawings
Mentor specialists requiring automation or HVAC product knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience with Siemens Apogee and Desigo
Working knowledge of HVAC systems, from unitary systems to central plants
Troubleshooting skills for distinguishing HVAC issues from computer/controller issues
General understanding of IP networks
Excellent communication skills
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Knowledge of object-oriented programming, including Java and C++
Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
Knowledge of BACnet and/or LON/LonWorks control systems
Knowledge of Tridium Niagara AX/Niagara 4, Distech/Eclypse, direct digital controls, Honeywell Webs, Modbus, Alerton, Johnson Controls FX, Staefa, Solidyne, Andover Controls, Siemens, and Schneider is preferred
