About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver effective, efficient, and timely facility maintenance services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory
  • Travel in a company van to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Conduct face-to-face customer interactions to meet client requirements
  • Use carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, and other trade skills to solve maintenance problems
  • Complete preventive maintenance and repairs according to work orders
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures
  • Perform routine painting and carpentry work to maintain facilities
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted under state law
  • Complete service and asset inspections
  • Access and complete work orders using tablets and smartphones
  • Create and submit service reports, quality inspection images, and reports
  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
  • Obtain materials and supplies needed for tasks
  • Maintain communication with customers and internal support teams
  • Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Provide estimates for larger projects and services
  • Complete other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry required, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Must possess applicable certifications and licenses
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present information effectively in individual and small group situations
  • Ability to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status
  • Ability to use handheld devices and business systems or document management database software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and Lotus Notes
  • Ability to comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and Company safety policies
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Daily local travel between properties
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle daily
  • Ability to use required safety equipment, including steel toe shoes, hearing protection, hardhat, eye protection, and hand protection
