About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver effective, efficient, and timely facilities maintenance services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory
  • Travel in a company van to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Conduct face-to-face customer relationships in service of client requirements
  • Apply multiple trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC
  • Complete preventive maintenance and repairs according to work orders
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures
  • Perform routine painting and carpentry work to maintain client facilities
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted without a license under state law
  • Complete service and asset inspections
  • Use tablets and smartphones to access and complete work orders, submit service reports and inspection images, and submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
  • Obtain materials and supplies needed for tasks
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and communicate with customers and internal support teams
  • Complete safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Provide estimates for larger projects and services needed by onsite customers
  • Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Related work experience in one or more of the building trades
  • Applicable certifications and licenses
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations
  • Ability to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status
  • Ability to use handheld devices and business systems or document management database software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, MS Word, and Excel
  • Compliance with applicable building-operation, regulatory, governmental, company, and safety directives
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and Company safety policies
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to travel locally between properties daily
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle daily
  • Ability to use required safety equipment and follow OSHA lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in front of customers
