About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver effective, efficient, and timely facility maintenance services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory
  • Travel in a company van to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures
  • Perform routine painting and carpentry, including drywall repair and paint matching
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted without a license under state law
  • Complete service inspections and asset inspections
  • Access and complete work orders using a tablet or smartphone, including service notes
  • Create and submit service reports and quality inspection images and reports
  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
  • Obtain materials and supplies needed for assigned tasks
  • Maintain customer relationships and communicate with customers and internal support teams
  • Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Provide estimates for larger projects and services needed by onsite customers
  • Complete emergency and preventive maintenance and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred
  • Two to five years of general maintenance experience, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Related work experience in one or more of the building trades
  • Background in commercial services highly preferred
  • Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations
  • Ability to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status
  • Ability to use handheld devices and business systems or document management database software, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Compliance with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and Company Safety policies
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to travel locally between properties daily
  • Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle daily
  • Ability to use required safety equipment and comply with OSHA lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines
