About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gain exposure to the full breadth of Bahnson Mechanical Systems’ business
- Interact with and support senior designers, project management, estimators, coordination and design draftsmen, prefabrication, building automation controls, QC/QA staff, and sales
- For six-semester interns: report to the Winston-Salem preconstruction staff
- Perform 3D system modeling, load calculations, system sizing and layout, system integration, estimating, and submittal preparation and review
- For four-semester interns: complete a field assignment somewhere in the southeastern United States
- Report to a field supervisor and learn the mechanical HVAC trade through hands-on work
- Commute to field locations and travel as needed
- Work in office and field environments, including outdoor job sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- New Graduate Design Engineer positions available
- Engineer Internship positions require a minimum of 6 semesters completed or a minimum of 4 semesters completed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Preferred exposure to 3D Autodesk modeling software, including Revit, Inventor, and AutoCAD
- Strong internet searching and research capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Integrity, honesty, professionalism, and commitment to company values
- Self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Must embrace the company’s safety culture
- High standards of quality with attention to detail

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to regularly commute to field locations and navigate job sites
- Ability to perform required physical activities, including walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 75 pounds
