About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver effective, efficient, and timely facility maintenance services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory
  • Travel in a company van to customer sites to maintain commercial properties
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems
  • Troubleshoot and service commercial HVAC systems
  • Perform tests and analyze data to verify equipment operation and provide recommendations
  • Understand controls and sequences of operation for commercial HVAC systems
  • Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and other maintenance tasks
  • Complete preventive maintenance checks and services on package and split-unit HVAC systems
  • Repair steam and hot-water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting issues
  • Safely use refrigerants in compliance with EPA requirements
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and system failures involving boilers and HVAC components
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry maintenance
  • Complete service and asset inspections
  • Access and complete work orders using tablet and smartphone technology
  • Create and submit service reports, quality inspection images, and reports
  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
  • Obtain materials and supplies for assigned tasks
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and communicate with customers and internal support teams
  • Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Provide estimates for larger projects and services
  • Complete other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred
  • Certified 2 year HVAC technical certificate or state approved HVAC license
  • 5 years HVAC/General Maintenance experience including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • HVAC experience working on industrial/commercial HVAC equipment/systems
  • Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Must possess an EPA Universal Refrigeration License
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations
  • Ability to use handheld devices and business systems or document management database software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives
  • Maintain knowledge of OSHA standards and Company safety policies
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Daily local travel between properties
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle daily
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work with required safety equipment and comply with lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in front of customers
