About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver effective, efficient, and timely facility services within assigned facilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Maintain face-to-face customer relationships while servicing client requirements
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures
  • Perform routine painting and carpentry work to maintain facilities
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted without a license under state law
  • Replace light bulbs, ballasts, and sockets as needed
  • Complete service and asset inspections
  • Obtain materials and supplies needed for tasks
  • Keep facilities clean, remove trash, and perform minor landscaping and other assigned duties
  • Document work and time properly in the CMMS management system
  • Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent two-year college or technical trade school; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Two to five years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations
  • Strong problem solving and logic
  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures and Local Operating Procedures
  • Ability to retain and use information in execution of daily job duties
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice
  • Self-motivated with ability to handle multiple jobs with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including ladder and lift work, regularly lifting up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in environments with moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, heights, fumes, chemicals, weather extremes, vibration, and loud noise
