About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead large-scale, mission-critical data center projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
  • Own project scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk management for complex fire protection systems
  • Serve as the primary client interface and main point of contact
  • Define project requirements and create job schedules
  • Coordinate delivery of tools and fabrication
  • Identify and manage assigned personnel and track labor efficiency
  • Represent the company at job progress meetings
  • Initiate change orders as needed
  • Complete contract progress billings
  • Estimate remaining cost-to-complete for monthly WIP reporting
  • Manage day-to-day project operations to ensure timely, on-budget completion
  • Collaborate with clients on creative solutions and customized solutions
  • Monitor projects according to established guidelines
  • Communicate project needs with team members and daily with foremen
  • Read and analyze job cost reports
  • Respond to management inquiries and assist with collections
  • Oversee design progress
  • Provide direct supervision to individuals assigned to managed projects
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and owner specifications
  • Maintain accountability for financial performance, operational excellence, and client satisfaction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in the fire protection industry, working in sales, estimating, project management, and/or design
  • 3+ years of experience in project management with significant experience in data center or mission-critical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in high-pressure, accelerated environments
  • Knowledge of NFPA and industry standards
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with project software such as Procore, Clearstory, or ACC
  • Knowledge of scheduling programs
  • Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic business mathematical functions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to follow operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs
  • Ability to delegate when needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with employees, government agencies, customers, vendors, and suppliers
  • Ability to regularly commute to customer and company locations by land and air
  • Ability to meet medium-work physical demands and use required protective equipment
