About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform on-site instruction of customer personnel
  • Write and modify maintenance procedures
  • Conduct quality control tests and/or product evaluations
  • Provide complete and timely activity reports, emphasizing problems encountered and services provided
  • Direct personnel engaged in installation, modification, repair, and operation of control systems, subsystems, and equipment
  • Provide engineering advisory assistance to customers and act as a company liaison on equipment-related issues
  • Cultivate relationships with internal project teams, customer project teams, and contractors
  • Troubleshoot, solve problems, make decisions, and plan field activities
  • Analyze and solve engineering problems associated with installation, start-up, and operation of distributed control systems and related equipment at customer locations
  • Work with senior engineers and receive on-the-job training and mentorship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Up to 80% travel, typically one week in duration, with heavier travel during spring and fall power systems outage seasons
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving methods
  • Ability to analyze information and think creatively to find solutions
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • No current or future work-authorization sponsorship available
  • Co-op or internship experience in a technical environment preferred
  • Hands-on exposure to control systems, simulation tools, or related technologies preferred
  • Comfort presenting ideas to different audiences preferred
