About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support for datalink configuration, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Design, implement, and support datalink solutions communicating with Ovation control systems
- Develop associated network architecture and device connectivity
- Analyze datalink and network performance to identify trends and recommend reliability improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve datalink and network issues
- Research and recommend software or hardware enhancements
- Maintain proficiency in third-party communication protocols and interfaces
- Collaborate with project, proposal, product development, field service teams, and customers
- Support creation and improvement of tools, standards, and processes for datalink configuration and testing
- Gather and interpret customer technical specifications to determine optimal datalink implementations
- Travel to customer sites for commissioning or troubleshooting when required (20% travel)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving methods
- Ability to analyze information and think creatively to find solutions
- Curiosity and willingness to learn
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Familiarity with PLC manufacturers and other DCS vendors (preferred)
- Experience troubleshooting networks and Cisco devices (preferred)
- CCNP or CCNA (preferred)
- Knowledge of Ovation networks or architecture (preferred)
