About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead preparation and maintenance of engineering plans, schedules, and technical documentation for renewable energy projects
  • Design, simulate, test, and implement renewable power control applications for solar, battery energy storage, and wind generation assets
  • Configure and troubleshoot electronic databases using industry-standard communication protocols and datalinks
  • Serve as a primary technical contributor during customer Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
  • Support site commissioning activities and provide remote technical support as needed
  • Initiate requisitions for project purchases and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors
  • Manage design, testing, integration, and shipment of project hardware
  • Identify and recommend improvements to engineering processes, tools, or standard solutions
  • Manage time and priorities to meet project schedules and commitments
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through communication and technical expertise
  • Monitor project financial performance and support cost and schedule control efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years applying engineering principles in controls engineering, industrial automation, renewable energy, power generation, water treatment, manufacturing, or related technical environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% domestically
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Experience with control systems, industrial automation, renewable energy, power generation, water treatment, manufacturing, or related technical environments
  • Preferred: 5 or more years of experience working in control system engineering
  • Preferred: Experience working directly with customers in a technical or project execution capacity
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Emerson Ovation software and hardware products
  • Preferred: Knowledge of control system applications, distributed control systems, or SCADA platforms
  • Preferred: Interest in mentoring or supporting the development of less experienced engineers
