About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze and solve engineering problems associated with installation, start-up, and operation of distributed control systems (DCS), sub-systems, and specific control equipment at customer locations
Provide on-site instruction to customer personnel
Write and modify maintenance procedures
Perform quality control tests and/or product evaluation
Direct customer personnel engaged in installation, routine modification, or repair of control systems and equipment
Provide engineering advisory assistance to customers
Act as a liaison within the company regarding equipment-related issues
Create complete and timely reports emphasizing problems encountered and services provided
Collaborate with customer support engineers and customer personnel

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of related experience engaging with customers for control-system installation, loading application software, and installing and maintaining network equipment
Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
PLC and/or DCS software programming experience
4+ years of related experience (preferred)
Professional and working knowledge of networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, firewalls, and routers
SCADA and datalink experience
Experience with Emerson Ovation software
