About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement hardware databases, logics, graphics, and datalinks
- Select hardware and software for project implementation
- Review application documentation for quality, accuracy, and completeness
- Verify project requirements with project technical leaders
- Solve technical problems using standard procedures, experience, and developed methods
- Work with partners to meet project requirements and deadlines
- Communicate accurately with customers
- Execute assigned projects and site services according to quality, delivery date, and budget
- Lead product enhancement and solution definitions for innovative projects
- Lead factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup
- Perform loop tuning, turbine startups, advanced controls, prediction solutions, and performance-solution implementation
- Lead implementation teams across industrial plant processes and applications
- Supervise subcontractors during engineering and commissioning phases
- Develop functional hardware and software designs, including reverse engineering in retrofit projects
- Develop implementation and commissioning plans
- Supervise remote engineering teams of 25–30 engineers
- Promote productivity tools and optimize engineering hours and project profitability
- Validate execution strategy, estimate engineering effort, and support risk assessment
- Lead complex commissioning and plant startups as site manager for teams of 10+ engineers
- Track project progress, budget performance, and risks and issue weekly reports
- Participate in SME teams and act as SME leader
- Mentor less experienced partners
- Update technical documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement and innovation activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree in related field
- Travel time up-to 60%
- Intermediate level of English
- Portuguese is a plus
- 8+ years of experience in DCS or PLC/SCADA in Industrial Automation
- At least 6 Technical Lead roles of medium size projects (over 2000 I/O points)
- Good interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Good business understanding and ability to work effectively with internal and external customers
- 8+ years of Power Industry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in Gas and Steam Turbine startup, commissioning, and performance testing
