Field Service Engineer
Emerson. Analyze and solve engineering problems associated with installation, start-up, and operation of distributed control systems, sub-systems, and specific control equipment at customer locations .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and solve engineering problems associated with installation, start-up, and operation of distributed control systems, sub-systems, and specific control equipment at customer locations
- Provide on-site instruction to customer personnel
- Write and modify maintenance procedures
- Perform quality control tests and/or product evaluation
- Direct customer personnel during installation, routine modification, and repair of control systems and equipment
- Provide engineering advisory assistance to customers
- Liaise within the company regarding equipment and related matters
- Create complete and timely activity reports, emphasizing problems encountered and services provided
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a similar technical educational curriculum, or relevant experience in lieu of education
- Minimum 2 years of related experience engaging with customers for installation of control systems, loading application software, and loading, installing and maintaining network equipment
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnights and some weekends
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Experience programming with PLC and/or DCS software preferred
- SCADA and datalink experience preferred
- Experience with Emerson Ovation software preferred
