About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead engineering delivery of automation projects from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through system design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and start-up
- Own Ovation DCS FEED, design, configuration, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities for allocated deliverables
- Partner with project leadership to understand customer needs and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations
- Coordinate technical activities and guide engineering team members and project stakeholders
- Support project planning with engineering input on schedules, resources, progress, and risks
- Serve as a primary technical contact for customers and facilitate communication across project teams
- Prepare technical specifications and support supplier and subcontractor engagements
- Monitor project scope and support management of changes affecting engineering deliverables
- Ensure engineering activities meet quality standards, customer requirements, and health, safety, environmental, and information security expectations
- Foster knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional development
- Contribute technical expertise to proposals, bids, and customer solution discussions
- Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and global Emerson teams
- Share technical knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned across the organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience supporting the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of industrial automation or control system projects
- Knowledge of automation systems, industrial networks, and communication protocols
- Ability to coordinate technical activities, manage priorities, and contribute to successful project execution
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Willingness and ability to travel as required to support project activities, customer engagements, and commissioning efforts
- Valid driver's license
- Educational background in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS), including Ovation™ or comparable automation platforms
- Experience working on projects within the power generation, energy, or process industries
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- Experience leading technical teams, mentoring colleagues, or coordinating engineering activities
- Proficiency in an additional European language
