About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement automated test platforms integrating hardware and software
- Research as required to develop or enhance test solutions
- Specify, design, test, and deploy automated test solutions for manufacturing computer-based instruments
- Define and implement project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure test system readiness for product release
- Integrate hardware and software to support manufacturing tests for existing and new products
- Develop test applications for desktop and industrial PCs
- Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation
- Collaborate with R&D software and hardware organizations and other business groups in Austin, Texas, and Debrecen, Hungary
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the company
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or mechatronics engineering
- Strong understanding of computers and high-level programming languages
- LabVIEW and TestStand are an advantage
- Understanding of sources of measurement error
- Understanding of appropriate selection of instrumentation
- Understanding of statistical analysis of data
- Understanding of software design and architecture
- Understanding of hardware and software integration
- Passion for learning about and working with test industry technologies
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
- Ability to work effectively in a group development environment
- Effective problem-solving skills, including diagnosing technical issues and proposing solutions
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and self-start
- Ability to drive tasks and projects to successful completion
- Ability to take ownership of goals and project schedules
- Ability to listen attentively and grasp fast-paced technical conversations
