About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams focused on Emerson's PACSystems technologies
  • Review and provide detailed feedback on peers' pipeline and infrastructure designs
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, Hackathons, Tech Talks, and Communities of Practice
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, test, and deployment workflows
  • Support client applications and real-time system components across the PACSystems software portfolio
  • Build infrastructure and tooling for AI-assisted and spec-driven development workflows
  • Automate manual processes through scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and test automation
  • Improve development environments, tooling, processes, efficiency, reliability, and developer experience
  • Evaluate and apply emerging DevOps tooling, cloud-native practices, AI-enabled automation, and platform engineering trends
  • Support team productivity, growth, accountability, and delivery of results
  • Develop and deliver Emerson PACSystems industrial automation software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline with 7+ years of relevant DevOps or software engineering experience, OR a Master's degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms
  • Expertise in Git source control
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage solutions, and Azure DevOps for build and release pipeline management
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Preferred: Experience supporting DevOps practices in industrial, embedded, or real-time software environments
  • Preferred: Familiarity with build and packaging workflows for C++, C#, or mixed-language software products
  • Preferred: Experience integrating AI-assisted development tooling or spec-driven workflows into CI/CD pipelines
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
  • Preferred: Experience with static code analysis tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, or Coverity
  • Preferred: Container orchestration experience with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Preferred: Knowledge of software signing, artifact management, and secure release processes relevant to industrial or safety-critical software
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery frameworks
  • Preferred: Background in process control or industrial automation
