About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle Database, and modern web technologies
  • Write, analyze, and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries for application functionality, data processing, reporting, and system performance
  • Support and enhance complex legacy applications and identify modernization, maintainability, and performance improvements
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across application, database, API, and integration layers
  • Analyze business requirements and technical problems and translate them into scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions
  • Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot REST APIs, business logic, integrations, and Oracle Database-connected services
  • Develop and maintain web application components using JavaScript and HTML, potentially including React
  • Support integrations with enterprise platforms and services, including authentication/SSO and third-party or internal systems
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and CI/CD practices
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, API documentation, and troubleshooting guides
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, System Analysts, QA teams, and technical stakeholders in an Agile environment
  • Identify technical risks and dependencies and contribute to application reliability and maintainability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of software development experience with hands-on delivery across Java and Oracle Database
  • Strong Oracle SQL skills, including complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, and data-intensive operations
  • Experience developing Java applications and REST APIs using Spring Boot
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Database, relational data models, database objects, and application-to-database integrations
  • Experience diagnosing application issues, analyzing existing code, debugging production problems, and implementing solutions across multiple application layers
  • Experience consuming and producing REST APIs
  • Familiarity with API authentication patterns such as OAuth2 and JWT
  • Familiarity with source control, code reviews, testing, deployment, and Agile sprint-based delivery
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and branching strategies
  • Preferred: experience with legacy application modernization, React, NextJS, modern JavaScript frameworks, Oracle APEX, PL/SQL, SSO/authentication technologies, MuleSoft, Salesforce development and integrations, learning management platforms, microservices, API gateways, and international Agile delivery teams
