About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and execute the global product strategy for Emerson’s Reliability Solutions portfolio, including Machinery Health Management, Field Device Management, and Asset Performance Management
  • Ensure timely introduction of differentiated new products
  • Manage the current product mix and evaluate portfolio performance improvements, feature enhancements, obsolescence, line extensions, and new product opportunities
  • Prioritize product opportunities and communicate them to senior leadership
  • Define product requirements for target-market functionality, usability, and robustness
  • Manage the Reliability Solutions New Product Development Roadmap with Technology and Sales leadership
  • Analyze long-term product opportunities, determine business potential, develop marketing specifications, and communicate them for strategic planning
  • Define minimum viable products and project scope balancing customer needs and time to market
  • Coordinate organizational readiness for product launches and ongoing support across Technology, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Lifecycle Services
  • Establish list prices and increases and develop pricing strategies with sales leadership
  • Provide product training, training materials, and sales tools to the worldwide sales organization
  • Define product positioning, success stories, quantified business results, and campaigns with Marketing Communications
  • Manage the Request to Quote process for current and future products
  • Ensure Reliability Solutions participation in standards development
  • Facilitate the User Driven Enhancement Program customer advisory board
  • Evaluate acquisition targets and partnership opportunities
  • Lead and supervise the RS Product Management group
  • Engage customers, industry leaders, strategic partners, and stakeholders to identify trends, validate opportunities, and shape product strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Marketing, or Business, coupled with a strong technical orientation obtained through an Engineering degree or years of experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in product management or another technical marketing role
  • Extensive knowledge of the product development process
  • Proven capability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Business acumen and strong drive for results
  • Ability to effectively lead a group of 5-10 people
  • Knowledge of and experience with the process automation industry
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Experience leading global Product Management teams preferred
  • Proven results in creating business growth and building effective relationships preferred
  • Experience with software and hardware product development preferred
  • Experience with agile and waterfall development practices preferred
