About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design and development of RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, and Flask
- Architect scalable backend systems, microservices, and asynchronous workloads using Redis and RabbitMQ
- Build data models and implement business logic across SQL databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Build knowledge graphs using Neo4j and PostgreSQL AGE, and handle vector databases including pgvector and Qdrant
- Integrate third-party APIs, cloud services, and secure OAuth2/JWT authentication and authorization
- Develop responsive, scalable web interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React
- Implement reusable UI components, state management, and API integrations
- Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into production-ready code with design teams
- Utilize Docker, Kubernetes, Nginx, Terraform, and related technologies for infrastructure and deployment automation
- Ensure observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and error tracking using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Optimize performance, debug complex issues, and improve application reliability and security
- Apply microservices and API gateway best practices to build resilient, fault-tolerant architectures
- Implement secure coding practices and adhere to compliance standards
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate machine learning models into enterprise applications
- Use TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and XGBoost for model development and experimentation
- Contribute to LLM integration, prompt engineering, model orchestration, and high-performance inference pipelines
- Process and engineer data using Pandas, NumPy, and Polars for ML workflows and feature engineering
- Use SHAP, LIME, and A/B testing frameworks to evaluate model performance
- Develop agentic AI using frameworks such as AutoGen and CrewAI
- Develop and deploy MCP servers
- Partner with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
- Participate in architectural discussions, technical roadmaps, and engineering best practices
- Conduct code reviews and promote best-practice development patterns
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, IT, or equivalent (MSc/MCA preferred)
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial production Python development
- Strong Python fundamentals: typing, async/concurrency, API design, error handling, testing, profiling, and maintainable package/service architecture
- Production experience with FastAPI or a comparable Python API framework, relational databases, and automated testing/CI
- Applied experience building or operating LLM-backed applications, preferably RAG systems using embeddings, vector or hybrid retrieval, and reranking
- Understanding of evaluating LLM features with representative datasets, measurable acceptance criteria, and regression tests
- Experience securing APIs and distributed services, including authentication, authorization, secrets, and safe handling of sensitive data
- Experience operating containerized services in Kubernetes or a comparable production platform
- Strong communication and technical leadership, including explaining tradeoffs, reviewing designs, mentoring engineers, and owning work through production support
- Experience working in Agile development methodology
- Experience with industrial automation, process control, engineering documentation, or safety- or reliability-sensitive domains
- Experience with on-premises or air-gapped deployments, private registries, customer-managed certificates, and local inference
- Familiarity with inference serving and optimization, including batching, concurrency limits, quantization, GPU memory management, or model capacity planning
- Experience with PostgreSQL/pgvector, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Experience with agents or MCP servers, especially permissioned tools, auditability, and robust failure behavior
- React/TypeScript experience if contributing substantially to the UI
