About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop software and firmware for mechatronic, electric, and pneumatic modules with embedded electronics
  • Analyze and evaluate stakeholder requirements to identify suitable technical solutions for software and firmware platforms
  • Develop and document system architecture
  • Coordinate and implement software and firmware solutions with international engineering teams
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and cross-functional development projects with project and functional managers
  • Develop innovative solution concepts within product development projects using appropriate methods
  • Integrate new and innovative technologies into product development concepts
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Laboratory, Quality, Sales, Operations, and international engineering teams
  • Contribute to electric and pneumatic actuator development for industrial automation applications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in Automation technologies
  • Linux programming experience
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as IO-Link and fieldbus systems such as EtherCAT
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, Java
  • Very good written and spoken communication skills in English and German
  • Willingness to travel (~20%)
  • Currently based in Germany
  • Valid work authorization in Germany
  • Relocation support is not available
  • Preferred: Experience working in global teams with colleagues across Asia and the Americas
  • Preferred: Web Page programming
  • Preferred: Another language
