About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide outpatient addiction care at the Emory Addiction Center (40%)

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat hospitalized patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions
  • Provide consultation in inpatient and emergency settings

  • Deliver clinical teaching and collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams
  • Supervise and teach residents and fellows
  • Provide proportional on-call coverage averaging approximately four weeks per year
  • Participate in clinical care, education, and program development
  • Work with nursing staff, Patient Care and Patient Service Coordinators, case management, and peer recovery coaches
  • Hold a joint faculty appointment at Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Full-time Addiction Psychiatrist faculty appointment
  • Unrestricted license for the state of Georgia
  • Board certified in Psychiatry
  • Board eligible in Addiction Psychiatry
  • Obtaining board certification is required for retention
  • Demonstrated interests in clinical care, research, and education preferred
  • Professional experience and accomplishments commensurate with appointment rank
