About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work under minimal supervision on highly technical and complex tasks advancing basic and/or translational research programs
  • Work with experimental platforms specific to the hiring program
  • Design experiments, analyze data, and interpret and communicate research results
  • Review literature and apply advanced knowledge, skills, and input for protocol development
  • Assist with grant and other funding applications as necessary and appropriate
  • With approval from the responsible Emory faculty director, potentially serve as principal investigator on funded grant proposals
  • Perform other responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD, OR master's degree and two years of professional-level experience in a technical or research lab, OR bachelor's degree and four years of professional-level experience in a technical or research lab
  • Laboratory experience related to the area of assignment
  • Internship experience or experience prior to attaining the qualifying degree is not considered eligible work experience
  • Preferred: Experience with spatial navigation research
  • Preferred: Skills in collecting and analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data
  • Preferred: Experience with research in aging populations
  • Preferred: Skills and experience in mentoring junior scientists and training
  • Preferred: Strong commitment to broadening opportunities and belonging in research and academic environments
