About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Performs a wide range of highly technical and complex research duties
  • Advances basic and/or translational research programs
  • Analyzes, designs, and interprets research results
  • Investigates and recommends alternative approaches to improve research results
  • Manages teams and leads scientific projects
  • Applies advanced knowledge and skills to protocol development
  • Facilitates training for other team members
  • Assists in writing IACUC, IRB, Biosafety, and other approval documents
  • Oversees quality assurance of research conducted by other team members
  • Assists with grant and other funding applications
  • May conduct independent research projects or assume responsibility for instrumentation or methodology development and user support
  • May serve as principal investigator on funded grant proposals with faculty director approval
  • Performs other responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD and one year of professional level experience in a technical or research lab OR master's degree and three years of professional level experience in a technical or research lab OR bachelor's degree and five years of professional level experience in a technical or research lab
  • Laboratory experience based on area of assignment
  • Internship experience or experience prior to attaining the qualifying degree is not considered eligible work experience for this job classification
