About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform highly technical and complex research duties
- Advance basic and/or translational research programs
- Analyze, design, and interpret research and experimental results
- Investigate and recommend alternative approaches to improve research quality
- Manage teams and lead scientific projects
- Apply advanced knowledge and skills to protocol development
- Facilitate training of team members
- Assist with writing IACUC, IRB, Biosafety, and other approval documents
- Oversee quality assurance of research conducted by team members
- Assist with grant and funding applications
- Conduct independent research projects or take responsibility for instrumentation or methodology development and user support, with faculty director approval
- Serve as principal investigator on funded grant proposals with faculty director approval
- Perform other responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- PhD and one year of professional level experience in a technical or research lab OR master's degree and three years of professional level experience in a technical or research lab OR bachelor's degree and five years of professional level experience in a technical or research lab
- Laboratory experience based on area of assignment
- Internship experience or experience prior to attaining the qualifying degree is not considered eligible work experience
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, structural biology, or biophysics preferred, or expected within or around one year
- Experience in molecular biology
- Experience in cell culture
- Experience in protein expression and purification
- Experience in biochemistry
