About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Function as an expert research nurse or coordinate a multi-center trial
  • Provide direction in auditing and monitoring activities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers to establish research programs integrating advances in clinical trials management
  • Develop and conduct patient and family education
  • Identify and write research grants, medical and nursing literature publications, study materials, brochures, and correspondence
  • Conduct ongoing training of clinical trials staff on internal processes, resources, and external benchmarks
  • Ensure multi-site study locations understand and comply with study protocols
  • Train or supervise site coordinators for multi-site studies
  • Participate in planning and evaluation to improve clinical research
  • Lead or chair committees or task forces addressing significant operational issues
  • Represent a study with the Principal Investigator at NIH Patient Safety Monitoring Board meetings when needed
  • Function regularly as a preceptor or mentor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia
  • Four years research nursing experience, or four years of clinical nursing experience in a related specialty and two years of research nursing experience
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) preferred
  • Must be credentialed through Emory Healthcare in RN II category
  • Position involves clinical patient contact
  • Experience working with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials
