About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct special projects for a department, school, unit, or program in Advancement and Alumni Engagement
  • Manage and help develop strategic planning processes and oversee progress toward project goals
  • Develop and administer project budgets
  • Participate in identifying funding sources, initiatives, and strategies
  • Prepare communication documents, articles, reports, and presentations
  • Develop short- and long-term project goals and objectives
  • Represent and promote projects at speaking engagements and with various constituencies
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and identify and summarize trends
  • Develop and prepare reports
  • Serve as a liaison with other university departments
  • Supervise staff as needed
  • Manage high-priority, division-wide projects supporting AAE strategic goals
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Client Experience team, including direction and oversight of priorities, workload, and professional growth
  • Oversee product-owner partnership work for AAE tools and technology, including gathering functional requirements, facilitating technology governance, and representing users in Agile delivery processes
  • Represent the department and serve as primary contact with departments across the division and University
  • Report to the Assistant Vice President, Technology and Innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in administration, fundraising, alumni engagement, fundraising campaigns, or related experience
  • Extensive experience providing operational support to multiple large-scale fundraising/engagement programs
  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of strategically utilizing Advancement technology
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, and financial reports
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, and CRM systems
  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficiency in fundraising reporting and counting
  • Strong database technology and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work with ambiguity, and ability to navigate a complex work environment
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience leading teams and working independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Prior experience in administrative management, advancement, fundraising, campaigns, alumni engagement, nonprofit, or university settings
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines
  • Must reside in Georgia
  • Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs
