About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the daily operations of the LGS Dean’s Office
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Dean and Associate Dean
  • Strategically manage schedules and maintain executive calendars
  • Coordinate complex domestic or foreign travel arrangements
  • Prepare detailed briefings in consultation with appropriate offices
  • Ensure smooth communication across internal and external constituencies
  • Handle meeting and conference logistics
  • Prepare and monitor budgets and project proposals
  • Research and compile information for reports and presentations, including charts and graphs
  • Manage office preparations
  • Review incoming correspondence and forward or respond appropriately
  • Lead meetings addressing operational issues and develop recommendations and action plans
  • Assist with administration and interpretation of organizational policies and procedures
  • Potentially supervise and schedule clerical and secretarial staff
  • Initiate paperwork for employee transactions and assist with investigating and resolving employee issues
  • Act as a spokesperson for departmental inquiries when needed
  • Provide daily and long-range assistance on internal and external assignments
  • Support the Dean on campus-wide and divisional issues, projects, and programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or a related field and three years of office administration or senior secretarial experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • Previous experience with various personal computer software applications
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using a variety of digital platforms and administrative systems
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to anticipate the Dean’s needs
  • Confidence, discretion, and comfort respectfully challenging ideas
  • Ability to type or keyboard 60 accurate words per minute may be required
  • Must reside within the State of Georgia
  • Ability to commute to Emory University as needed
