About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Join the behavioral health team at Grady Health System's Ponce De Leon Center
  • Provide care focused 100% on adults and youth living with or affected by HIV
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments
  • Provide evidence-informed and culturally responsive psychological interventions
  • Support patients managing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges associated with HIV and co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, case managers, dental staff, and community partners
  • Participate in scholarship, including potential interprofessional research on HIV care, health outcomes, health disparities, and behavioral health interventions
  • Educate and supervise psychology trainees, psychiatry residents, medical students, and other health professional learners
  • Advance patient-centered HIV care, reduce health disparities, and improve outcomes for individuals and communities affected by HIV

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams in medical settings serving medically complex populations
  • Ideally, experience in integrated care contexts
  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship
  • At least one year of supervised postdoctoral training
  • Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in Georgia
  • Obtain board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) within five years of appointment
  • Expertise in comprehensive assessment of individuals living with HIV and/or other chronic medical conditions
  • Expertise in behavioral interventions promoting medication adherence, engagement in HIV care, health behavior change, and disease self-management
  • Expertise in treatment and management of co-occurring medical and mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness
  • Expertise in evidence-informed interventions
  • Expertise in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care for diverse cultural, socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identity backgrounds
  • Knowledge of psychosocial factors affecting health outcomes, including stigma, discrimination, housing instability, social isolation, and other social determinants of health
  • Interprofessional teamwork, collaboration, and integrated care delivery
  • Clinical teaching, supervision, and mentorship of trainees
  • Research related to medically complex populations, behavioral health, health disparities, implementation science, or related areas
