About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Cybersecurity Program Manager in prioritizing project work and supporting the portfolio and projects
- Coordinate, plan, support, and execute enterprise-wide IT projects
- Provide strategic input for project plans, budgets, and scope
- Manage the project management life cycle from beginning to end
- Establish stakeholder and project team buy-in across multidisciplinary teams
- Apply PMI and Agile/Scrum methodologies and provide continual project progress and performance reports
- Assist and support Project Management Office employees
- Research project management practices, trends, and best practices to improve PMO performance
- Validate business cases and gather information for project charters
- Create project charters and analyze business cases, resources, and risks
- Consult with project sponsors on directives, scopes, deliverables, timelines, and risks
- Conduct bid sessions and vendor RFP efforts; select and manage suppliers and supplier payments
- Use project management tools and methodologies to achieve milestones and maintain scope
- Monitor project team dynamics and resolve issues
- Create progressive project milestones
- Gather and analyze project metrics; manage issues, risks, and scope changes
- Communicate project progress, issues, resolutions, and scope changes with stakeholders, senior management, and project leaders
- Manage project timelines, resource commitments, activities, and variances using project management tools
- Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout projects
- Close project contracts and validate supplier statements of work and deliverables
- Assist the School of Medicine IT Director in prioritizing project work
- Perform related responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of Project Management experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Ability to commute to Emory University location as needed
- Background in Cybersecurity and/or Higher Education preferred but not required
