About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support research administration-related activities in the day-to-day operations and objectives of the assigned department
  • Act as a contact for department managers, staff, and outside parties related to research administration
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and managing programs or projects
  • Research, compile, and prepare routine or ad-hoc reports
  • Maintain records, files, and logs
  • Initiate or maintain contact with internal and external customers, vendors, and committee members
  • Coordinate logistical activities for meetings, training, and related activities
  • Assist in managing pre- and post-award activities for assigned grants and contracts
  • Follow established procedures to ensure research complies with federal, state, and University guidelines
  • Review, monitor, and reconcile fiscal transactions, including cash transactions and billing
  • Assist with account or award setup and maintenance in the Compass (PeopleSoft) system
  • Assist with award setup data review and interpretation or financial management of clinical trials
  • Coordinate documentation for invoices, pre- or post-award functions, and meeting organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of business/finance, IT, research administration or related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs
  • Residency in the state of Georgia required
